Why Chrome & Edge have so many processes in Windows 10

If you notice the Windows 10 Task manager for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browser processes, you will see a list of processes under each browser, event if you just open a browser without any new tabs, why so?

Each running applications have their background processes on the Windows system which users the system resources like CPU, memory, disk, network, GPU and others, Windows task manager been used to check all the current running process with resource utilization status

All modern web browsers use the advantage of Windows 10 multi-process architecture, it runs each tab, plug-ins, and other web apps in separate processes to improve the efficiency and avoid the browsers crash if one of the plug-in issues

This also prevents the system failures by running multiple isolated small number of processes, the system will work fine even one of the process got hung or over-utilized

also notice inactive browser tab is not using more system resource which improves the performance
